Cheile Turzii, also known as Thorenburg Gorge, is a limestone gorge located in the Trascau Mountains on the eastern edge of the Western Carpathians, in the western part of Transylvania, Romania. It is situated close to the city of Turda. The approximately two-kilometre-long gorge is traversed by the Hasdate Stream, which has carved its way into the limestone. The gorge is bordered on both sides by steep walls, some 300 metres high, which contain several caves. The gorge was protected in 1938 due to the 1,000+ plant species, many of which are alpine.
