Bunesti Fortified Church

The fortified church stands in the centre of the village on flat ground in the southern part of the green, on which later houses were built. A three-aisled pier arcade basilica was built here at the end of 13th century in the transitional style from Romanesque to Gothic. The nave is separated from the aisles by five pairs of flattened ogival arches. What has been preserved from this church are the choir with its 3/6 apse, the arcades of the nave and the vestry in the northern part of the choir.
