The Orthodox monastery near Berca in Buzău County was founded in 1694 by the Cantacuzino family and built in the Brâncovenesc style. As a fortified complex with thick walls, a bell tower, and an inner courtyard, it once also served to protect the monks. The monastery church is dedicated to the Archangels Michael and Gabriel and preserves frescoes from the 17th century.

The air-conditioned rooms have a flat-screen TV, private bathroom and terrace. A delicious breakfast with local produce is served each morning.

Many tourist attractions, such as Rătești Monastery, the mud volcanoes of Berca, the Sărata-Monteoru resort (with medicinal and salty springs) or the Dealu Mare wine region are very close to the guest house. Vegetarian or special allergen-free menus are available. Here, traditional Romanian recipes are combined with international influences, resulting in a unique Romanian slow-food cuisine.
